The Tiffany Han Show (formerly Raise Your Hand Say Yes)

In thinking about where to start when it comes to tackling racism and dismantling systems of oppression, it’s easy to feel like any right next steps can feel simultaneously like way too much and not nearly enough. Luckily I had the opportunity to chat with the incredible Rhonda Magee about her book, The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness, and why mindfulness is the best place to start.

While this may seem like the least radical approach, Rhonda is here today to explain why that’s exactly the point. Get ready to quell your judgments and learn how to work toward racial justice by starting with yourself. Begin to lead with compassion and connect with others by means of doing your best, because you are enough! You do not want to miss this revelatory conversation!

Forget everything you think you know about minimalism and get ready for an education on liberating yourself from the physical and emotional clutter that’s no longer serving you. Christine Platt, author of The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less, joins me today to chat about the true meaning of minimalism, the best ways to approach letting go of what is no longer serving us, and living more intentionally than ever before.

Only holding on to the things you need, use, and love may sound like a no-brainer...until you look around at the give or take 300,000 (that’s right) objects in the average home. What’s the harm in overconsumption? Think time, energy, and the emotional labor you could be imposing on future loved ones. I know this sounds like quite the undertaking, which is why I’m so glad Christine is here with us today to prove how attainable a mindful life with less can be.

Ah, productivity. The finish line we’re sprinting towards that stretches ever farther away the faster we hustle. Here’s the truth: We’ve been sold a raw deal on productivity and time. “Managing” our time stifles the magic of being alive! Today I’m calling out my fellow Super-Doers with a reminder that you can trust yourself.

Listen in as I reveal the lesser-known impacts of stress, how our current relationships with time can exacerbate them, and break down the 5 Pillars of #RadSelBel in relation to how we’re approaching our time and our lives. Ready to start living from a place of joy and delight instead of obligation? Sounds like it’s time for a Grown-Up Gap Year. Tune in to find out more!

Time for some RADICAL transparency: my impulse (note, impulse) was to ask myself today if talking about #RadSelBel and Grown-Up Gap Year even mattered when it felt like so many hard things were happening around the world...until I saw a tweet that reminded me of why I do what I do.

Today I’m offering the warm reminder that it’s okay to feel both rage and hope. That #RadSelBel helps us slow down and bring even more of ourselves to a world that desperately needs it. Being in touch with our creativity helps us solve problems, no matter what lane we’re in, and making space for that is more important than ever. Take a deep breath and listen in for the permission you’ve been waiting for.
