Abstract artist Amira Rahim is on a mission to make the world a more colorful place. Her work is amazing, and her story is even more amazing. She started claiming her title as professional artist in her mid-20's and, in this episode, we talk about how she reinvented herself as an artist and the stories she had to rewrite in order to do so. We also talk about how she embraced the bad paintings she knew she'd have to make as she worked on finding her voice, how her artistic voice is evolving even still, and how she balances creating art with the business of selling art. There is something for everyone in this episode, whether you're ready for a reinvention or are trying to figure out how to juggle all the things as you define success for yourself!

I was so excited this week to chat with Emilie Wapnick of Puttylike for this week's episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes. We talked all about being what Emilie likes to call a “Multipotentialite”. I had THE BEST time interviewing Nicole Antoinette for this week's episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes. She was an absolute open book when it came to how she's approached making big changes in her life - including her step to get sober five years ago. (Spoiler: yes, it was hard.) If you are someone who wants to make a change in your life, but are wondering how to either get started or keep that ball moving forward, this episode will be perfect for you. We talk about what to do when things get hard, why motivation is bullshit, and how to keep going. PS. Don't forget - there's still time to complete the RYHSY survey. Submit your answers by Friday 5/13 to be entered into the drawing for a $100 Anthro gift card!

This week on Raise Your Hand Say Yes, I’m talking with Jamie Jensen all about storytelling for creatives. We also talk about the common mistakes she sees entrepreneurs make, so if you're stuck on how to tell your story and sell without being a d-bag, she's got you covered. This week, I had the good fortune of interviewing Kristen Ley of Thimblepress for Raise Your Hand Say Yes and our conversation was one of my favorites! Kristen's story is the epitome of my raise your hand and say yes philosophy, and it was so inspiring to hear about how she built her business in just a few years by taking risks and keeping her eye on the prize. In this episode, we also talk about the power of both faith and hustle and how you can keep going when you're trying to juggle a million different things. Kristen also offered up wonderful advice to anyone who's wanting to get started with a business of their own, especially if you're nervous about marketing! PS. Welcome to 2016! This year, I'm starting off with a new series on Raise Your Hand Say Yes all about New Year's Resolutions. Do you start every year thinking you're going to deal with your health and money and (finally!) clean out your closet? If so, you're in for a treat this month! And if not, you're still in for a treat because these upcoming episodes are gooooood! This week, I got to sit down with one of my favorite people on the planet, Lacy Young and talk all about health and wellness and what to do if you want to be healthier. Lacy's advice is spot on while also being super reasonable and I know you'll be able to walk away from this conversation with at least a couple of things you can start doing today to get healthier and feel better in your body. We also talk about how you can tell the difference between what you really want for your body versus what the magazines say you should want, the value of putting yourself in the way of empowerment, and a beginner's guide to meditating. Lacy also shares what she experienced in the beginning of her own journey to get healthy, and I'm sure we can all relate. Be warned: by listening to this episode, all of your excuses about why you can't eat better or meditate will go out the window! **100 Rejection Letters** - Registration open through 10/31/16 Show Notes: Connect with Lacy: Website | Facebook | Instagram | Pinterest Lacy's Meditation Retreats
