The Tiffany Han Show (formerly Raise Your Hand Say Yes) (general)

Y’all. You know I love year-long experiments.

  • In 2013, I tried to get 100 rejection letters.
  • In 2015, I did a #postitdaily project on Instagram.
  • In 2017, I experimented with quitting booze for a year. (And guess who celebrated her 7-year sober anniversary on January 4!?)
  • In 2018, I did a #yearoftruthtalks on IG.
  • In 2022, I gave myself a Year of No.
  • And last year, I did Revival.

The goals of my Revival experiment were to:

  1. release the rules about how things should be done
  2. reclaim how I want to show up to everything—my work, my life, my family, my self...all of it
  3. reconnect with my wildly-creative self and live the experiment out loud with radical self-belief, delight, curiosity, and intuition as my guides.

Soooo, did I do it? Short answer: yes. But there are A LOT of asterisks!

Listen in to hear about all those asterisks, get into why it worked, and what lessons I’m bringing into 2024!

Because we know there's something more to life than the perfectly coiffed, perfectly creative version of ourselves we think we need to be.

What happens when you've been sharing your life online for 18 years, and realize one day that things aren't working? How do you step back from the internets when you're so connected to so many? Is this even allowed?

In today's show, I have a candid and insightful conversation with the incredible Elise Cripe. She's been a familiar presence online for 18 years (and has been on this show multiple times), but she's decided it's time for a big shift. She's stepping back from the internet. Indefinitely.

And she's talking about it here.

In this conversation, we talk about:

+ why Elise is making this change (including a look into the money piece!)

+ how long it took her to go from *hungry for change* to actually making it

+ what she's most looking forward to, once her life-online break starts

This is an in-front-of-the-change conversation that we don't normally here, especially when showcasing the Afters is so popular! Settle in, and enjoy!

Welcome back to The Tiffany Han Show! This podcast has been a 9 year journey, and today I'm sharing why I took an 8-month hiatus from the show. Dive into what I've learned about healing, patience, and self-care during this hiatus.

We'll also explore the concept of healing as a non-linear journey and the dangers of rushing the process.

And finally, you'll hear about future of The Tiffany Han Show, including what's in store for upcoming episodes (and why I can't promise weekly episodes quite yet).

Remember, healing is not a race; it's a deliberate and often slow process that always takes longer than we think it should. Have faith.

Thank you for joining me today, and I can't wait to continue this adventure with you on The Tiffany Han Show!

Hey, y’all! It’s been a minute, and I’m back with some updates. In this episode, I’m giving you the lowdown on what’s going on with the podcast, an update on my Year of No, and a preview of what’s on tap for the new year. I’m drilling down into the healing process and why it requires slowing all the way down, and sharing my desire to travel back to a simpler time. Perhaps we can hold on to what worked from our pasts and bring those principles with us into this new year. Listen in to learn how.

Alright, y'all! All of my best September podcasting intentions got derailed by Covid, Mercury retrograde, and my launch. I'm back today with a scrappy update to share some big lessons I've been learning.

In this episode, you'll hear how my Year of No influenced my decision not to put out an episode now, what happened when we got Covid and how it affected my business, why I'm not freaking out about low launch results, and the huge *5 months in the making* revelation I had last week over a spoonful of Nutella.

The Encanto Episode is here! But whether or not you’ve seen the movie, I’d like you to look at the three keywords in the title of this episode: Strong, Perfect, Waiting... Ringing any bells? There’s a reason this movie is so popular, and it’s not just because the songs are catchy as heck. The three Madrigal sisters give us an honest, sometimes gut-wrenching look into our own humanity and the pressures that come with it. Whether you relate to Mirabel, Luisa, Isabella, or all three on any given day, I’m giving you permission to slow down, release the pressure, and just be. Let’s share some magical Madrigal moments on today’s episode of the Tiffany Han Show.

Has this thought ever crossed your mind?

“I will _____ just as soon as I _____.” (Feel free to fill in the blanks with that thing you really want to do, followed by what you “have to” do.)

It’s easy to feel like we have to keep chugging along even when things feel out of alignment, and today’s episode is a reminder that we are not worker bees! We are made of stardust, and we deserve to live in a place that doesn’t feel like burnout—even when there’s a lot to get done.

Instead of hanging our hopes of relief on how quickly we can get things done, there is a gentler, more authentic, and meaningful way to move through our days and I want to tell you how. Less bee-ing and more being! Are you with me?

As ambitious high-achievers, there are certain things we’ve been taught not to say. Instead of four-letter words. I’m talking about phrases like:

I’m dissatisfied with this life I’ve worked so hard to build.

I want something unnameably-different from this amazing looking life.

I want more. And less. And fun in a way I can’t articulate.

If you can relate, start by taking the bar of soap out of your mouth—there’s no shame in feeling what you feel. Today I’m talking about what happens when we say what’s on our hearts and minds without self-judgment, even though there’s pressure to stay silent and stay grateful—and how to use those unsayable things as *useful* information. Wanna join me in hopping off the hamster wheel of self-improvement and looking inward with me?

Welcome back for another Year of No Update! I’m addressing the question we’ve all been asking…did giving up social media destroy my business? Spoiler Alert: Nope! That’s not to say things don’t look a little different these days. Listen in as I share exactly how different this year’s Grown-Up Gap Year Early Bird Registration went compared to last year. That’s right. Down to the exact numbers!

I’m also chatting about what’s been coming up for me lately, some tricky things my brain is doing amidst the mid-year slipperiness, how social media worked for me last year, and why I might be preemptively thinking about hopping back in…Taking some time to discover what I’m most curious about has got me in full-on experiment mode, and I’m so excited to tell what I’m discovering!

How many times have you forced yourself to power through when you don’t really want to? This week, I’m talking about a recent “I hit a wall” experience of my own when I  reached my capacity and had to choose between two options: I could push through into burnout mode, putting out work I didn't feel great about. Or I could take a breath, give myself a little grace, and look around to see the earth still spinning.

You’ll hear what I did (I’ll be you can guess) and what things I want you to think about if (and when) you find yourself approaching! I also break down the pillars of Radical Self-Belief and how each can help you to slow down, be present, and keep from doing too much damage. A little late for preemptive measures? Don’t worry, friend. I’ve got something for you too. Let’s take a beat and feel a bit more alive, together.

Welcome back to another Year Of No update where I’m talking all things business! With the upcoming early-bird application period of Grown-Up Gap Year in sight, I’ve been tossing out the formulas and harnessing my energy to have a bit more fun with it all. Sure, the “way things are done” exists for a reason, but if disregarding the rules lights us up, shouldn’t we run with that instead?

Via my Year of No, I’m opting for freaking awesome over fine and ditching the master plan in favor of trusting my energy.. After all, isn’t that what Grown-Up Gap Year is all about? Hint: It totally is. Listen in for the inside scoop on how I’ve been moving through my business differently, how I know I’ve set myself up for “success,” and my hunch as to why my results probably won’t have anything to do with being strategic.

It seems like everyone and their mother has something to teach us about “finding balance,” and maybe you think you could get there too if only you could just cross off enough on the to-do list! Today I’m here to burst the balance bubble once and for all, because while we’ve been taught incessantly about what a balanced life should look like, we’ve never been told what it feels like.

What if we scrapped the whole thing? What if we stopped striving for something that doesn’t exist? What if we found a way to light ourselves up in an unbalanced way? Do we dare find harmony in a song we can write ourselves? Today I’m sharing some helpful tools to do just that.  Take a deep, centering breath and decide what’s enough. Ready to begin?

Warning: This episode contains uncomfortable and necessary truths that will ultimately set you free. Today we're talking guilt, doubt, and the myth of “enoughness.” None of these plagues are going anywhere, anytime soon. AND  we have the opportunity to tap into DFSTAG to take those initially wobbly steps toward strutting into a life we so desire.   More good news? You’re not alone. We’ve got a LOT of unlearning to do, but we get to do it together! I’m going to clue you in on the tools to help dig deeper, the questions to ask for clarity, and even throw in a history lesson on why breathing is an important place to start. Are you with me?

If committing to a year of no was me planting a seed, I can now say that some very exciting (and pretty unexpected!) developments have taken root! I’ll get you caught up on how my Year of No is going, share what’s surprised me the most, and talk about my confirmation that a “Week of No” or a “Month of No” would never have worked for me.  I also re-cap last week’s Bake-Along experiment, my delicious live chat about trying something new while simultaneously trying something new! So meta.  Oh, and this whole episode is a great reminder that life is so much more delightfully exciting when you proceed in faithful surrender—without knowing the outcome.

Tune in to hear what I learned, and all that’s coming around the bend!

Relax your shoulders. Unclench your jaw. Today we’re talking surrender. While the word itself may summon images of everything from a day spa to a white-flag failure, I’m here to drive home the facts:

  1. It’s not a walk in the park.
  2. It is NOT the same as giving up.
  3. You cannot “achieve” your way into it.

What you can do is join me today with an open mind and a willingness to explore some new perspectives around infusing a little surrender into your everyday. Let’s see how much more fun we can have when we loosen our grips and toil a bit less.

In today’s history and linguistics lesson, I’m getting to the root of the un-influenced life and how best to find our way there. Who are we when we’re not being influenced? How can we find our way out of the rabbit hole when we’ve forgotten our discernment? Who is actually making the daily decisions in our lives?

After that, we’re talking “Slingshot Effect” and how to best utilize it on our journey back to ourselves. So let’s slow down to make progress. Let’s get quiet to find our voices. And let’s become fluent in the language of ourselves. This episode is like one big exhale. Breathe in with me and let’s begin.

Today I’m diving into the idea of “living your best life.” Usually, this phrase is followed by a list of items we have to buy or a checklist of tasks required to reach that coveted place. But how many cashmere blankets does it take to get to your best life? Why does it seem as though the to-do list keeps growing no matter how effortlessly we check things off?

And what might change for you if you embrace that idea that your best life is already here?

Maybe I’ve piqued your interest. Or perhaps you’re appalled at that notion…either way, I promise all will be explained in today’s episode. Join me to find out what it means to say that your Best Life is here, today, while embracing radical self-belief and the 5 pillars of DF-STAG. Fear not, toxic positivity is not part of the equation. Let’s take a break from all of this powering through and greet our best lives together.

In her new book, she has created an inspirational guide for setting new personal goals, rediscovering your interests, cultivating creativity, and reclaiming your Unicorn Space…or the active and open pursuit of self-expression in any form, which requires value-based curiosity and purposeful sharing of this pursuit with the world. This week, we’re talking about a few beliefs that are standing between you and your radiant, Technicolor life, and why I want you to practice kicking them to the curb…starting now…with a ton of grace. Many of these beliefs are rooted in systems of oppression that influence so much about our lives, so while the beliefs won’t dissolve overnight, we can take the first steps away from them together. It all starts with awareness.

Not only will I be tackling these limiting beliefs, but I’ll also share how to prepare for the inevitable resistance that shows up when we try to live with more ease in our lives. Is that little voice your intuition or something else entirely? Tune in to find out, and allow yourself to start where you start.

When it comes to inspired life design, it’s very easy to focus on the things we’re doing (or not doing!). This week, I’m inviting you to go deeper and consider instead the stories you might be telling yourself about whatever’s been going on. More often than not these stories are packed to the gills with judgment. Our well-meaning but unhelpful brains are doing their best, but needless to say, it may be time to get mindful of the power these stories hold over our lives.

In today’s fun-sized episode I’m giving you a helpful exercise to create space between your brain and the living stardust version of yourself. Three simple questions will help to tap into a deeper level of awareness where DF-STAG is sure to meet you!

Join me and members of the audience as we question and answer what this shift is going to mean for me, how to say “no” in a way that’s expansive, and what happens when it’s eventually time to say “yes.”

Is this a big ole change? Yup. Is there a possibility of “failure”? Totally! Am I taking this opportunity to experiment with ways to open my life up to more moments of joy and magic? Absolutely. I’m willing to hypothesize that it just might be worth it. Have questions that weren’t answered in this episode? Head over to TiffanyHan.com/asktiffany and let me know what you’re curious about.

Listen in as I explain why I’m taking my year-long social media hiatus, how I’ve prepared, all the things I’m afraid of, and a handful of other no’s I’m embracing along the way. It’s that time of year again! In today’s episode, I’m revealing my phrase for 2022, and how I intend to harness its power in the new year. While past years of this practice have been more helpful than others, now more than ever feels like the time to plaster mantras on the walls that inspire us to find a little more magic in every day.

I’m also talking about all things change and how to navigate it. Join me in taking a pause to consider if the discomfort and danger we feel is truly a threat to us, or simply to the way things used to be. Some BIG changes are coming around the bend (TBD in Ep. 400!) and I’m so excited to dig in together. Take a breath and tune in!

Welcome to my Top 10 of 2021! While I won’t be listing off my favorite books or cozy slippers, I’m going to let you in on something a bit more intimate. As opposed to the top 10 things I’ve purchased, I’m sharing the top 10 things I’ve lived, diving into the experiences and lessons I’ve learned that have brought me closer to the truest version of myself in 2021.

Whether it be embracing my favorite hobbies, making radical changes, or speaking up, my goal for this episode is to inspire you to consider what in this past year has made the days easier, brighter, and a bit more fun. What can we carry with us into 2022 that will keep life feeling as good on the inside as it looks on the outside? Tune in for some of my favorite suggestions.

Friction. Otherwise known as a sticky, uncomfortable feeling that makes it hard to move forward. Sometimes, it’s that restlessness that tells us it’s time to shift, yet very rarely gives us a clear direction or an easy fix. Today I’m letting you in on three truths about friction and how to handle it without overthinking to infinity and beyond, including the surprising lightbulbs about how and when friction can actually help us move forward!

In episode 371 I brought some radical transparency with the announcement of my ADHD diagnosis. This week, I’m revisiting that diagnosis with an update of everything that’s changed since and how my journey has gone! From my sleep, productivity, and anxiety, to my journey with medication, it has been an eye-opening few months and I’m excited to check in on where I am now.

Other things I dive into include: How do we create a new normal, with ourselves and our loved ones, after a diagnosis like this? How do we acknowledge the truth of our struggles, without feeling as though we’ve been fooling everyone? And how do we find strength in saying the vulnerable things out loud? I’m addressing these questions as well as the questions YOU asked on Instagram in today’s episode. Listen in and join the conversation.

Disclaimer: This is my personal journey and NOT a decree on how things must be done. Please consult your doctor if you would like to address your experience with ADHD.

I am so thrilled to be speaking to  Adam J. Kurtz (aka Adam JK) on the podcast about his new book, You Are Here (For Now), a collection of essays and art about life, and change, and you, and me, and all of us trying to just be more okay. Let me say I devoured this book and had room for seconds it was so good.

Tune in as Adam and I discuss the difference between living and truly being alive with all the paradoxes along the way.  If the pandemic has taught us anything it’s that we both have a lot of time and we don't. We know enough and also don’t have a clue. Nothing is permanent and if you’re evolving you’re doing something right, but being busy is not a personality. Like I said, paradoxes abound. Let’s get more comfortable with it all together in this amazing interview.

On this particularly inspiring (and particularly vulnerable) episode, I’m so pleased to have chatted with Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative journalist and the author of The Power of Habit and Smarter Faster Better, Charles Duhigg! Together we drill down on what it takes to say “Yes!” to the changes we’d like to make in our lives, knowing where to start, and the role belief plays in all of it.

Turns out there’s a big difference between setting a goal and making a plan! Listen in as I become the guinea pig while workshopping a S.M.A.R.T. plan with Charles, and find out how you can do the same. Living through a global pandemic certainly altered some of our daily routines, so today we’re discovering how to make the most of our jolt out of autopilot and shift into some fulfilling new habits.

In thinking about where to start when it comes to tackling racism and dismantling systems of oppression, it’s easy to feel like any right next steps can feel simultaneously like way too much and not nearly enough. Luckily I had the opportunity to chat with the incredible Rhonda Magee about her book, The Inner Work of Racial Justice: Healing Ourselves and Transforming Our Communities Through Mindfulness, and why mindfulness is the best place to start.

While this may seem like the least radical approach, Rhonda is here today to explain why that’s exactly the point. Get ready to quell your judgments and learn how to work toward racial justice by starting with yourself. Begin to lead with compassion and connect with others by means of doing your best, because you are enough! You do not want to miss this revelatory conversation!

Forget everything you think you know about minimalism and get ready for an education on liberating yourself from the physical and emotional clutter that’s no longer serving you. Christine Platt, author of The Afrominimalist's Guide to Living with Less, joins me today to chat about the true meaning of minimalism, the best ways to approach letting go of what is no longer serving us, and living more intentionally than ever before.

Only holding on to the things you need, use, and love may sound like a no-brainer...until you look around at the give or take 300,000 (that’s right) objects in the average home. What’s the harm in overconsumption? Think time, energy, and the emotional labor you could be imposing on future loved ones. I know this sounds like quite the undertaking, which is why I’m so glad Christine is here with us today to prove how attainable a mindful life with less can be.

Time for some RADICAL transparency: my impulse (note, impulse) was to ask myself today if talking about #RadSelBel and Grown-Up Gap Year even mattered when it felt like so many hard things were happening around the world...until I saw a tweet that reminded me of why I do what I do.

Today I’m offering the warm reminder that it’s okay to feel both rage and hope. That #RadSelBel helps us slow down and bring even more of ourselves to a world that desperately needs it. Being in touch with our creativity helps us solve problems, no matter what lane we’re in, and making space for that is more important than ever. You may have noticed quite a few ch-ch-changes around here lately and today I’m opening up about all of them. Between the retirement of my Inner Circle and the birth of my new program, Grown-Up Gap year, I certainly stopped to wonder at times what all this change was for. After all, why fix it if it ain’t broke, right?

Wrong.

I’m taking a page out of my own book and getting curious, moving intuitively, and stepping into change from a place of love and not obligation. I’m approaching these changes with the same spirit I plan to instill in Gap Year, which is not about pulling out of life and obligation but showing up to everything in a new way. Listen in to find out how it’s all going down and why Grown-Up Gap Year might be exactly what you need.

This is the question on my mind after today’s prolific chat with Majo Molfino, coach and author of “Break the Good Girl Myth: How to Dismantle Outdated Rules.”. Toppling the patriarchy is a tall order made even stickier when we learn that the patriarchy lives within all of us. Majo and I speak at length about the sneaky and often invisible impacts of the systems we’ve all been born into. Slowing down to engage in the life-long practice of what I preach is less about the BIG DECISIONS to make change, and more about the daily baby steps we take to flip the script, prioritize our values, and give ourselves permission to live in wonder.

Disclaimer: What works for me may not work for you. In fact, it may sound like the very last thing you want to do. Remember, there is no correct path towards your most radiant Technicolor life! Whether she is adventuring through the experimental changes in her everyday life or adventuring around the globe, Cait Flanders has created a life led by bold choices. Luckily for us, she has chronicled it all in her newest book, “Adventures in Opting Out” and is chatting with me today about what happens when we reframe our choices as adventures.

The majority of self-help books may assist in inspiring you to make significant changes in your life. They might even detail precisely how to execute them. But then what? What happens when we get the sinking feeling that maybe we made the “wrong” choice? Or when those closest to us don’t understand or respect what we’re called to do. What if life is just fine and yet we feel called to change it anyway? Cut to Cait’s book and today’s episode, shedding light on these doubts and helping to embrace the discomfort that may show up, even when we’re moving in the right direction.

Welcome back to part 2 of this deep dive into the fears and doubts that often pop up when we decide to live beyond the to-do list. I’m adding a few more to the list and reminding you that this is a life-long practice that we can continue to work on together!

Why does this shift in perspective take time and support? Old patterns are hard to shake, especially when we’ve been brought up in a society that encourages you to reach for the stars but also to remain humble and grateful for what you already have. Does having the desire to better our lives make us ungrateful for what we’ve got? If you’ve felt the strain of this societal dichotomy, be sure to listen in and find out how we’ll work through this during Grown-Up Gap Year!

You’re efficient. You’re a do-er. So naturally, you’ve got those standard fears pretty much covered, at least enough to get through the day and your to-do list. You know the ones...fear of failure, fear of success, fear of change, the list goes on and on. Well, today I’m going to talk about a different set of fears, ones that you might not even realize have been massively getting in the way of your most radiant Technicolor life.

So what’s on the other side of ambition? What if this is not as good as it gets? What do you truly need today, and what if you had the AUDACITY to start asking yourself? Join me in scratching the surface of all of these questions and get a taste of what we’re going to explore in Grown-Up Gap Year!

When it comes to Radical Self-Belief (heyo #radselbel!), I’ll likely still be talking about it in another 375 episodes. Today I’m bringing you the five pillars of radical self-belief to make it just a touch easier to lace up your sneaks and take the first step towards your most technicolor life.  Gear up for the glory and the discomfort, knowing you can rely on these pillars to be your foundation along your way.

Welcome to the beginning of the #RadSelBel movement—I’m definitely on a mission to make it a whole thing. This week, grab your favorite pencil case and meet me for a powerful history lesson on Radical Self-Belief and the deeply rooted foundations of why it’s so dang challenging for us to trust ourselves. If this is something you struggle with, you’re not alone, and you’re NOT to blame.

When history class is over, we’ll step back into modern times to talk about what radical self-belief is (oh, and isn’t!) and what it can do for you! Let’s drop into a life that feels as good on the inside as it looks on the outside, and let’s do it together. #RadSelBel

Join me today as I discuss my personal journey to diagnosis, how I approached the conversation with my doctor and advocated for myself, why I was quick to say yes to medication, what I’m currently processing on the other side of things. and the importance of destigmatizing women’s mental health challenges.

Disclaimer*** This episode discusses the topic of women’s mental health. I am a life coach, not a psychiatrist. This is not meant to serve as a diagnostic or guide to women with ADHD, but simply as a deep dive into my own personal experience and diagnosis.

We’ve all heard the adage, “If it’s not a ‘hell yes’ it’s a ‘hell no’,”...and I’m asking, “Is it really that simple?”  Today we dive back into a prior episode that just might be bubbling with brand new meaning.

In my experience, there’s no stepping into an expansive, technicolor life without a handful of doubt and a healthy dose of faith. Join me as I chat about the 5 different types of Yes’s that show up most frequently in our lives and how our doubt plays a valuable role in stepping forward with faith. Say “YES!” to this episode, then listen in to find out just which yes you expressed!

In today’s episode, lovingly dubbed “The Asterisk Episode”, I’m laying down some inconvenient, yet expansive truths about our inconvenient feelings. Let’s exhale into the possibility that we can feel fear and faith at the same time, that we can come to a decision with certainty while still having a few dozen questions to answer, and that slowing down will inevitably spur on momentum. Listen in for the pep talk you crave when things feel a bit more three-dimensional than you had anticipated.

So you know how everyone always says that you’ve gotta “CEO it up!” to be successful? If you currently have your CEO hat on, feel free to pop it off and rest it gently on the dashboard if that feels right for you, because I want you to listen to today’s episode free from the structures, systems, and shoulds that may or may not be working in tandem with your values.

Today I’m circling back to a conversation we began together some time ago about letting go of the “business” of my business, because I personally needed the reminder after slipping back into my old barreling ways. I’m going to tell you all about my new program (eek!), the epiphany I had while planning it (spoiler alert: it required some tweaking), and what happens when you decide to stop “making it work”, and maybe just don’t do it. Hop in and roll the windows down, you gorgeous human.

Whether or not you’ve had the opportunity to go full Marie Kondo on your home just yet (I’m right there with you), there’s still so much to learn from “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up”. Today’s episode takes a look at the teachings of Marie Kondo through the Tiffany Han lens in what I consider to be more of a decluttering of the soul.

Get ready to zoom up and out of that one drawer you’ve been fixating on, may it be a literal kitchen drawer or more of a metaphorical mental cabinet, and dive into the life-changing magic that you know we love to throw around here on the Tiffany Han Show.

Nothing complements a tall glass of nostalgia like some freshly baked life lessons to bring along for the ride. This forward-facing episode is about the 7 things that I picked up in my nearly-7-years of making the Raise Your Hand Say Yes podcast that I’m bringing with me into this new chapter of The Tiffany Han Show, and with the help of some inspired determination, my life as well.

We often fear change before the realization dawns on us...“Hey, I’ve actually been changing all along!” Let’s take a step toward being more present and intentional with those changes and embrace a new sense of expansiveness, together.

If you’ve been craving an evolution in your own life or feel like you’re right on the precipice of something different, I’ve got you covered! (Also, this is a great time to remind you that you’re allowed to both honor all the amazing things you’ve done up until now AND step into something new!)

Y'all, it's a big day! I’ve been hinting for a few weeks now that my business and my podcast are changing. And the time has finally come: episode 362 is the last episode of Raise Your Hand Say Yes.

Even though my podcast is shifting (I'll meet you right back here next week with a new name and artwork), it will still be me chatting in your ear about the things that are lighting me up and interviewing fascinating people.

Today, though, I’m sharing the inconvenient whispers that led me to this change, how I navigated the process, and what all of this means for the future. For detailed show notes, visit www.tiffanyhan.com/blog/episode362.

Have you ever felt like you're outgrowing (or have outgrown) an aspect of your life?

My whole perspective shifted on a FaceTime call with a friend a few months ago. He saw my sad-but-regularly-watered plants in the background and told me that those plants of mine were really unhappy and that even though I was watering them, they still needed food and enough space to grow.

This episode is about plants, but it’s also about us—how we water ourselves, what nourishment we truly need, and if the containers we’ve given ourselves are the right ones. It’s all a big ol’ metaphor, of course, and it’s also a precursor to the shift I’m making in my business.

In a world full of people telling us how they can revolutionize our businesses and that we need to leap and hope with all we have that our nets will appear, how can we be so sure that the move we're going to make is The Right One?

This week, I'm taking you through my journey (starting Freshman year in college) of so many Raise Your Hand Say Yes career moves that eventually got me to the place of starting my coaching practice, going full time, and starting this podcast.

There are twists. And turns. And backtracks. And pivots. As is to be expected by life. But, there was also so much learning - which I'll share as well.

Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy, and remember: you're doing great. You're not alone. Keep going.

What I Said:

"We are meant to evolve, and sometimes we evolve beyond the confines of our current situation."

"How to start from scratch? You just start."

"You are capable of more than you realize."

"If you're on the precipice of something and you feel that nervous excitement, it is okay to take a small step."

Whether you're ready to dive headfirst into the new year or you're still trying to wrap up the last one, I've got you covered with this episode. We're going to talk about endings, beginnings, and the questions I want you to consider as you think about the start of the year. (And also: wherever you are is beautiful and wonderful. YOU ARE DOING GREAT.)

Aaaand in case you need them for reference, here are the questions for you to consider:

*How do you want to feel?

*Where are you finding meaning?

*What's going to bring you peace?

*What are you ready to release?

*What are you ready to find your way back to?

What I Said:

"Beating yourself up in order to live your best life doesn't work."

"The thing that brings you peace might also bring with it some temporary disruption."

"Transformation hangs in you doing the work to get to the bottom of where you want to be."

What do you think about when you hear the word "enough?"

In this episode, I’m going to tackle what I see as two different (and often competing!) realms of being and doing enough and then offer ways to help you redefine the word according to your own standards. (Amen and hallelujah to that, right?!)

First: Am I enough? This is all about YOU and how it feels to be you in your life and showing up to yourself.

Second: Am I doing enough? AKA why having a strong value of service does not mean you have to sacrifice your humanity in order to show up for the world.

I also cover the power of your values, self-alignment, the importance of not measuring your worth based on somebody else's standards, and why those tiny little steps are the way to start. Oh! And then I wrap it all up with talk of seeds, harvest, and how to make an orchard with your life.

Things I Said:

"If an idea won't leave you alone, it's a sign that you are the person being gifted with that dream."

"Being of service does not mean that you have to sacrifice your humanity."

"The only starts that we can make are small starts...one step at time."

"Don't let that voice that tells you 'You are not doing enough' keep you from doing anything at all."

Those Timestamps:

This week, I'm talking about some signs you can look for to show you that you're on the right track and why they might be different than the ones you're currently watching for!

Being on the right track might be creating something new, but it might also be just listening to your longings. And so it’s critical to know whether - “Should I keep going?” or “Should I quit?” – especially if the road feels so rocky.

So today, I’m giving you 6 Signs You're On the Right Track – and right track means the things that you want to say YES to... or it might also be the things that you are ready to say NO to.

Things I said:

"Having doubts means you are changing your perception and the way you show up."

"Pay attention who you are telling your ideas to."

"If it is meant for you ,it will keep showing up."

"Rocky roads aren't roadblocks. They don't mean that you have to stop. They're just a sign that you are moving forward."

Those Timestamps

00:35 – What 'being on the right track' truly means

When was the last time you woke up feeling like you were excited to dive into your day? If you're not sure, you might be suffering from burnout.

In this week's episode, I'm sharing the 12 phases of burnout (as developed by psychologists!) and talking about why I think—as hand raisers and yes sayers—we're especially prone to burning ourselves out.

I'm also sharing one of my favorite super-easy-to-start-using tools for beginning to move yourself beyond burnout.

What I Said:

"The answer to moving beyond burnout is never that you need to work harder."

"If we say ‘yes’ without saying ‘no,’ then we are just saying ‘yes’ to everything, and that’s not going to work"

"We often hang out in the early stages of burnout and don’t think there is anything wrong with that."

"Moving forward does not mean we have to sacrifice ourselves.”

Those Timestamps

04:30 - The 12 phases of burnout

06:35 - Excess of ambition

08:30 - displacement of conflict

09:46 - Denial of problems

10:57 - Getting out of the early stages of burnout

12:25 - Moving forward and chill out at the same time

16:01 - Start practicing a pause

19:11 - Those (entertainment) systems are working against us.

Tell me this: would you avoid anything in the world to feel needy? Do you want to go deeper into your desires but feel selfish in doing so? Are you so accustomed to taking care of everyone else around you that you never have any time left for yourself?

Sweets, pull up a chair because this vintage episode with life coach and host of the Needy podcast, Mara Glatzel is going to be balm for your soul. I wanted to have Mara back on early in the Money, Sex, Freedom series so we could talk about how wanting more for yourself in those areas is totally okay and also SUPER ENCOURAGED.

And, newsflash: having needs doesn't mean you're faulty or a failure. It means you're human! (WHOA.)

Dive in. It's so good. (Mara, thank you. You are a gift.)

What She Said:

"It is both essential and normal to have needs."

"Having your needs met makes you so much better at everything you do."

"If we can't make space for taking care of ourselves then we can't bring a full version of ourselves to anything that we do."

"When you lack trust in something, you create a lot of rules around it."

Those Timestamps:

02:35 - Core Values Masterclass - Special Sale!!!

06:35 - The Needy podcast... and what it means being 'needy'

15:11 - Honoring and taking care of our needs

37:26 - The beauty of prioritizing your needs - "You're the vessel for the service"

I loved talking with Natalie Lue for this week's vintage episode and we covered so much ground, including: habits (and relationships!) that aren't serving you, how to step beyond those well-worn patterns, drama and our addiction to it, and how people-pleasing is actually a manipulation (SAY WHAT?!).

We also covered identities that don't serve us, letting other people dim our light, and why having emotional baggage doesn't mean anything other than that we're human.

Natalie blew my mind in this episode and I think you'll love it!

What She Said:

"Patterns happen when we're living unconsciously, and that means we’re not living who we are."

"We're so used to giving ourselves a hard time that we often chase things that deep down we don't want."

"Sometimes we want something so badly it feels like a need but it isn't."

"People pleasing masks a hidden agenda... Being honest about what our reasons are could be a real game-changer."

"Adulthood is about unlearning all of the harmful and unproductive stuff that we pick up along the way."

"We have to take the journey and go through whatever we need to experience to learn what we need to learn."

Those Timestamps:

04:04 - Recognizing and letting go of old identities, habits, emotional baggage

13:44 - Taming your inner critic and silencing the negativity

19:19 - How to stop people-pleasing and start being/doing you

24:50 - Living with intention, Getting out of that autopilot life

31:06 - The manipulative power of people-pleasing

42:43 - Ways to halt the habit of being hard on yourself

57:45 - Who's deciding what you're capable of? (Updated You vs. Outdated You)

1:00:05 - Why the journey and the experience matters

The big question we're tackling this week in this vintage episode is this: how do you proceed towards the life you want to live when your pesky brain keeps getting in the way with the fear and the doubt and those sneaky impulses?

(Related: how do you get yourself to do the things that matter most to you when, in the moment, you just don't want to!?)

(Also related: if you experience this, YOU ARE NOT ALONE.) Dig into this week's episode to hear about why I want you to ignore your brain and what to focus on instead!!

What I Said:

"We build resilience, confidence, and progress through action."

"The answer is not to have it all figured out. It's knowing enough and having the faith to willingly take the next step."

"The impulse is not the authority of your life. You are!"

Those Timestamps:

04:05 - How to learn not to listen to your "brain"

15:27 - Shrinking the recovery time between the impulse to the fact

24:23 - A commitment to sobriety and recovery

"I'm not good enough. I'm not ready. I don't belong here." These are just a few of the things the Imposter Complex would have us believe (yes! there's a name for that!) and this week I'm thrilled to have life coach and Imposter Complex expert Tanya Geisler back on the podcast to talk all about the Imposter Complex.

In this vintage episode, you'll hear what it is, how it shows up, what it means if you experience these things (it's good, I promise!) and how you can move beyond it to get all those things you want for your life (looking at you money, sex, and freedom!).

What She Said:

"Every great thing that we've ever done has been by feeling that fear and doing it anyway."

"The ego wants to want more than it wants to get."

"We have to have areas in our life where there has to be relief—where you can just rest and not have to be the best at things."

Those Timestamps

03:27 - What is imposter complex? Who experiences it?
14:34 - Ways and behavioral traits that imposter complex shows up
24:00 - How to positively handle criticisms

Money, money, money! It's uncomfortable and necessary to talk about.

This week, I'm bringing back a conversation with my former business coach Lena West to dive straight into the most-uncomfortable parts of the money conversation, including: why we show up the way we do around money, what's beyond the "charge what you're worth" mantra, how to deal with money discomfort (and why it probably won't go away!), why striving to just be nice is bullshit, what happens when the people in your life aren't supportive of your endeavors, how to know what to charge, and SO MUCH MORE!

Lena is all heart and no bullshit and will shake up your beliefs around money in the best way! Enjoy, enjoy!

What She Said:

"The amount of money is not the point. It's about what is non-negotiable for you and standing in that."

"Getting to 5, 6, 7-figures in your business isn't a walk in the park."

"The money has to have a meaning; otherwise it's just some arbitrary nonsense."

"Don't share dreams with people who don't have any... share your dreams with dreamers and doers."

Y'all! I'm taking a break! Whuuuuuut? Yes! After over 6 years of producing (at least) weekly episodes for this show, I'm talking a wee break, and in this week's episode, I'm sharing why I'm pausing now, what that's going to look like for the podcast, and how you can take a break as well.

Listen this week to find out the practical things I'll be doing during my break (because I have to make it as useful as possible, don't I? lol.) as well as the ways I'm holding space for myself. Aaaaaand you'll get to hear a little bit about what might be coming down the track for RYHSY. A new podcast name?! Maybe, just maybe. WHO EVEN KNOWS ANYTHING ANYMORE???

Oh! If you're already wondering when new episodes will be coming, don't fret! I've got a bunch of my faves queued up for your ears while I'm away!!

What I said:

"Just because you can keep going doesn't mean you should."

"Your break doesn't have to be all or nothing."

"Let 'I don’t know' be normal. Accept it for where you are right now instead of working harder and pushing more."

Those Timestamps:

01:55 - Importance of breaks... and why I'm taking one
11:07 - Step #1: Know what you want
20:54 - Step #2: Give yourself permission to do so

This week, I'm talking about what to do when you find yourself either wanting something to change, recognizing that something's not working, or recognizing that you don't know where to go next.

Picking up a thread from my conversation last week with Rob Bell (and his new book Everything is Spiritual), I want to examine the question/prayer/mantra "Now what?" and show how we can work with it to get the clarity we're after.

If you're not sure what’s next or still figuring out the next steps in the life that you want, this episode is for you!

I share what it means to keep going, how to find clarity, why anger is okay, and what embracing curiosity and grace can bring to your life.

What I said:

"The reason that I have 336 episodes is I kept going."

"Prayer is a powerful tool."

"What we need to be aware of is what’s on the other side of anger."

"The knowing will lead you to curiosity, and curiosity will lead you to clarity."

Those Timestamps

00:35 - What it means to actually "keep going"
04:41 - Why I'm reopening applications for the Inner Circle (but only for 3 days!)

In his new book, Everything is Spiritual: Who We Are and What We're Doing Here, New York Times bestselling author Rob Bell explores the endless dynamic questions and connections that have shaped his life, providing powerful insight into understanding one's purpose and place in the world. And I am thrilled to be in conversation with him this week.

Listen in to hear me and Rob talk about his 11th book (!!), the nature of life, why "looking for" spirit is playing the wrong game, why hope needs to be apocalyptic, the problem with all those ladders we've gotten really good at climbing, and what's important to know about boredom and death.

Rob Bell has been one of my greatest teachers and I'm so excited to introduce him to you!

What He Said:

"The elimination of obstacles, barriers, and discomfort is a recipe for boredom."

I am so excited to be talking with one of my current Inner Circlers Gillian Freeman, of Pen & Thimble, this week! Gillian creates handmade, eco-friendly products for her business and is a busy mom of 2.

In this episode, we talk about her experience in the Inner Circle, what brought her to the work, what she learned about pausing and taking breaks, and why she didn't really believe that what's happened for her was possible (but it was!).

We also talk about how things changed for her along the way, why she's taken up a new hobby, and where she's looking next.

Applications open Monday 9/14 for the next round of the Raise Your Hand Say Yes Inner Circle (we start October 1!) and if you're wondering if it's a good fit for you, Gillian's story will be helpful so you can see what's available!

What She Said:

"Success that's built on a foundation of burnout is not success."

"It's not just about the business but who you are as a person - what you believe and what you want."

Yes. Raising your hand and saying yes to what you want for your life is going to require time and energy. And you might have precious little of it (hey! There's a free challenge for that!). But this week, I'm talking through all the things that not following through on what we want for our lives is costing us.

And what I know is that it's time for us to shift our standards of what's acceptable. To stop letting doubt make our decisions. To take a stand for what we want even when circumstances are less than ideal.

Overcoming inertia will always be a challenge. It will only get harder the longer you wait. And those things keeping you up at night? They aren't going anywhere. So what would happen if you started investing in yourself. (Yes. Even right now.)

In this episode, you'll hear me talk about helping you set a foundation of being yourself in your life. Showing up to everything as the single version of you. Living on the outside as who you know you're ready to be on the inside. It's bold and brave and beautiful. Let's go.

What I Said:

"Your pre-COVID life was too much. No wonder you don't know where to put yourself right now."

"Continuous improvement is not your life's purpose."

"Staying where you know you don't want to be is never going to help get you what you want."

"I'm asking you to step into simultaneously easing up on yourself and holding the entire world to a higher standard of what's okay and acceptable."

"Long-term stress is killing us."

"Extreme dissatisfaction can be an impetus for change."

"The resistance keeping you still is only going to get louder the longer you wait."

Those Timestamps:

04:57 - The unseen cost of not saying yes to yourself
13:36 - Knowing when to start looking for something else

This week, I'm kicking off Season 8 with Glennon Doyle!

Glennon is a New York Times Bestselling author, an activist and thought leader, and is the founder and president of Together Rising, an all-women led nonprofit organization that has revolutionized grassroots philanthropy – raising over $25 Million for women, families, and children in crisis.

In this conversation, we talk about Glennon's new book Untamed (it's ESSENTIAL READING y'all!), and cover the following: doubt, faith, what's required before you can really take care of yourself, how to consider what the most true and beautiful version of your life is, why permission to change your own mind is critical, and how you can find your own "there she is" moment.

What Glennon Said:

"May our dreams become our plans."

"Faith is a belief in the unseen order of things."

"It's impossible to take care of yourself and your family if you don't first untame."

"There is no construction of the new without destruction of the old."

"The goal of family is to create a community where everybody gets to bring their full self to the table."

"Truth is kindness even if it makes people uncomfortable."

Listen to Learn:

08:09 - Living the truest most beautiful life (and how this is available to everyone)

14:38 - Believing in the unseen order of things and how to hold onto that faith when things feel rocky

Do you need rest or to work harder? Should you focus on your end goal or stay present to what you need right now? Is what you're doing too much or not enough?

This week, I'm diving into how learning to live within contradictions instead of either/or thinking can help us both more forward towards our goals and feel better within our days.

What I said:

"Step into the breadth of everything that is in the IN-BETWEEN instead of thinking about things as EITHER-OR."

"The point of having goals is to help you decide your very first step of action, not put you on a forever-path."

"Building relationships with people does not mean that you have to sacrifice who you are."

"Maybe it's the all-or-nothing thinking and not your failing as a human that's keeping you stuck."

Those Timestamps:

00:28 - Living in the contradictions
08:06 - Hurry up or slow down?
13:31 - Have goals or detach from outcomes?
21:15 - Live your values or build relationships?
24:16 - Know where you want to go or live in the now?
30:21 - Take care of yourself or stay flexible

This week, I'm releasing the audio of my recent How to Have the Life You Want training (click here to get the video replay and catch the slides!).

You're just 10 quick and easy steps away from the life you want!! That's how this works, right? Instead of promising formulas and rules, in this training, I cover 10 different guidelines, perspectives, and tips to help you figure out your own next steps towards the life you want, not the one the rest of the world thinks you should have.

Freedom. Connection. Ease. Faith. Grace. I want all of those for you every single day. Let's get going.

Things I Said:

"The small things count just as much as the big things."

"You've got to be willing and able to let yourself be human. You're not a ROBOT."

"It is not your life's purpose to deny your humanity in honor of your ambition."

"We don't have to overperform our way through our days to have the lives that we want."

"Grace is that ability to get it wrong, learn, and keep going."

This week, I'm answering a listener question (hi Susan!) about how to embody and live into one's values, but I'm also taking this question deeper to talk about how to get started in bridging the divide between where you are now and where you want to be, even if (and especially when!) that divide feels overwhelming and insurmountable!

I also share how you might be treating those seeds you're planting so unfairly and what to do instead as well as give some personal-for-your-agency-archetype advice for each type. (I feel like I took myself to church on this one; thank you for your question, Susan! It inspired so much!)

What I said:

"When it comes to embodying values, our job is to stay really fluid, nimble, and open."

"If we keep taking steps, those steps might take us somewhere surprising."

"If you are not embodying your own values, you're embodying somebody else's."

"Commit to using your values as your compass even if everyone else seems to be loving some totally-jacked-but-socially-acceptable-enough compass to guide their lives."

"The answer to getting to where you want to be is not to stay where you don't want to be."

Those Timestamps:

06:11 - How to get started with a values list

24:20 - Crossing the divide between where you are and where you want to be AND how to approach this considering your Agency Archetype

It's easy to think of destruction as something negative (and thus to be feared). And our fear around it often limits us and keeps us stuck.

Today, I’m showing a different perspective of destruction, one that can be used to embrace it as a way of unbuilding and a chipping away of things as we rebuild our lives.

Tune in as I talk about the power of destruction, when it is a positive thing, how to welcome unbuilding in your life, where to start in the rebuilding and how to have faith in your personal agency. Enjoy!

What I said:

"You can simultaneously be grateful for what you have and want things to be different and better."

"If you live on a tightrope but are always clinging to the edge, you have nowhere to go."

"If we let fear run our lives and make our decisions, the thing that we're most afraid of usually becomes true."

Those Timestamps:

04:19 - The fear of destruction
12:27 - Self-fulfilling prophecy of fear, The limiting power of fear
17:46 - Unbuilding: Why destruction isn't always a bad thing
22:10 - Chipping away and welcoming destruction
